The purpose of the Office

The modern age in which we live does not only require the acquisition of knowledge but, above all, the best possible application of this knowledge in practice.

Unfortunately, however, labor market conditions and inadequate career guidance often force university graduates or remain unemployed or find a professional outlet in workplaces that are not related to their subject matter.

This office exists in order to provide career guidance, as well as, help with the better utilization of undergraduate students in the labor market.

A Bureau of Interconnection does not promise to find work for all students and graduates interested in it. However, it promises to provide the necessary information so that the student himself can choose the job that suits him / her or, if he / she wishes, he / she can attend postgraduate studies in Greece or abroad.

Thus, the main purpose of the Interconnection Office is to develop two-way communication between the academic area and the enterprises or other productive entities in which students or graduates could be absorbed, making good use of their knowledge.

Goals of the Office

The establishment of the Interconnection Bureaus, although widespread in Universities abroad, is still at an early stage in our country.

Harokopio University, as a relatively new university, is interested not only in the proper scientific training of its students but also in their subsequent professional careers, established a liaison office with the main objective of facilitating the communication of students and graduates with the labor market.

The operation of the Interconnection Office consists of the following activities:

Provision of information

The information provided by the Interconnection Office consists of:

- Collection of data on internships and employment opportunities in the labor market, as well as for training seminars, postgraduate studies and scholarships. This information is provided to students and graduates of the University.

- Updating the labor market on the work of the Departments of the University and the potential of their students.

- Providing information to students and graduates of the University on how to find and claim a job, as well as behavior in an interview.

- Organization of workshops with the participation of executives in order to inform students and graduates about the skills required to fill a job, as well as on the situation in various sectors of the labor market. Thus, the students and graduates are given the opportunity to meet with professionals and learn from their experiences. Advisory Services

In the difficult transition period, during which the student and the graduate passes from the University space to the workplace, support and advice for decision-making related to the professional career plays an important role.

For this purpose, the staff of the Interconnection Office, as well as the members of the Teaching Staff of the University, are at the disposal of students and graduates in an effort to help them assess their abilities and qualifications. This will increase students' chances οf pursuing professional courses or postgraduate programs that best reflect and make use of the knowledge they have gained during their studies at the University.

The aforementioned services are provided by the Office of Interconnection immediately after the completion of a CV, which is filed with the Office.
